SynoCell Ingredients Benefits: What Each of the Five Is Studied For
SynoCell ingredients benefits are modest and uneven. ASU and Boswellia show small benefits in trials, oral hyaluronic acid is mixed, quercetin has no human joint trials and black pepper extract is an absorption aid. No trial has tested the SynoCell blend, so treat each benefit as a possibility, not a promise.

Key facts
When people search for SynoCell ingredients benefits, they usually want one clear answer. The true answer has five parts, one per ingredient, and each has a different level of proof. This guide walks through them in label order and ends with how they compare.
- ASU, 310 mg: a small pain benefit in trials of 300 mg a day.
- Quercetin, 310 mg: no human joint trials.
- Boswellia extract, 200 mg: small trials, mostly positive, using different extracts.
- Hyaluronic acid, 180 mg: small oral studies, mixed results.
- Black pepper extract, 5 mg: an absorption aid, not a joint ingredient.
- No trial has tested the SynoCell combination itself.
- The strongest advice for knee pain is exercise, weight loss if you are overweight, and NSAIDs.
What are the SynoCell ingredients benefits in one table?
The table puts each printed amount next to the amount studied and the strength of the evidence. These are the same labels the ingredient pages use.
| Ingredient | Per 2 capsules | Studied amount | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| ASU | 310 mg | 300 mg a day | Small benefit |
| Quercetin | 310 mg | Up to 1,000 mg a day in general studies | No human joint trials |
| Boswellia extract | 200 mg | 100-250 mg of other extracts | Small trials, positive |
| Hyaluronic acid | 180 mg | 48-240 mg a day | Small trials, mixed |
| Black pepper extract | 5 mg | 5-30 mg in supplements | Absorption aid |
Notice that nothing in the last column says "proven". That is the correct reading of the research, and it is also what the site's quick answers say.
What is ASU studied for?
ASU is the avocado and soybean fraction that is left when oil is turned into soap. It is studied for knee and hip osteoarthritis pain. A Cochrane review pooled four trials with 651 people at 300 mg a day and found pain about 8.5 points lower than placebo on a 0-100 scale. The review called the benefit small and of questionable importance ((Cameron and Chrubasik, 2014)).
To picture 8.5 points, take a knee pain of 60 out of 100. A drop to about 51 is the average gain over placebo. Some people may notice that. Many will not. A 3-year hip trial of 399 people found joint-space loss, pain and function no different from placebo.
SynoCell lists 310 mg, close to the studied dose. That is a real point in its favor. The benefit is a possible comfort aid, not a repair of cartilage.
What is Boswellia studied for?
Boswellia serrata is a tree whose resin is known as Indian frankincense. In a 90-day trial of 75 people with knee osteoarthritis, the extract 5-Loxin at 100 mg or 250 mg a day went with pain scores that fell about 40% and 52% ((Sengupta et al., 2008)). A 2020 meta-analysis of 7 trials and 545 patients leaned positive as well.
Two cautions apply. The trials were small and used other extracts, such as 5-Loxin and Aflapin. SynoCell uses a general extract standardized to 65% boswellic acid, and the brand does not publish the AKBA content. So the dose match at 200 mg is rough. Boswellia may also add to bleeding risk with blood thinners.
What is oral hyaluronic acid studied for?
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar-like molecule your body already makes. It is part of the fluid in your joints. Swallowed hyaluronic acid is a different thing from a joint injection, because capsules are digested first.
A review of 13 human studies found oral doses from 48 to 240 mg a day, taken for 2 weeks to 12 months, and most reported less knee pain. But many studies were small, and several authors were tied to a maker. In the 12-month trial of 60 adults at 200 mg a day, hyaluronic acid beat placebo only in people aged 70 or younger ((Tashiro et al., 2012)). SynoCell's 180 mg sits inside the studied range.

See today's price and guaranteeWhat is quercetin studied for?
Quercetin is a plant pigment found in onions, apples and tea. As a supplement it is sold as an antioxidant. For joints, the data are from animals and lab dishes. There are no human osteoarthritis trials ((MSKCC, Quercetin)).
That makes quercetin the weakest link for a joint claim. It also carries the longest interaction list, including warfarin, cyclosporine and some antibiotics. The brand store's wording about bones or cartilage goes past what any human study shows, so read it as marketing.
Why is black pepper extract in the blend?
Black pepper extract is there for absorption. Its active compound, piperine, slows systems that clear compounds from the body, so more of a substance stays in your blood for longer. In the best-known study, 20 mg of piperine with 2 g of curcumin raised curcumin absorption by about 2000% ((Shoba et al., 1998)). SynoCell has no curcumin. No study shows that 5 mg helps the other four ingredients absorb, so the effect here is a reasonable guess.
The same effect is the reason for the medicine warnings. At 15 to 20 mg a day, piperine raised the levels of some medicines in small studies. Ask a pharmacist about your own.
How do SynoCell ingredients benefits compare with exercise and weight care?
They come second. The 2026 ACR guideline summary strongly recommends exercise, weight loss if you are overweight, and NSAID creams or pills for knee osteoarthritis. It advises against glucosamine and chondroitin. It does not address ASU or Boswellia. Read our guide to exercise and weight loss for knee arthritis first.
If you try SynoCell on top of that, give it a clear test. Note stairs, rising from a chair and how far you walk, and review your notes at the end of the first bottle, which lasts 30 days. The ingredients overview has a profile page for each one.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What are the benefits of SynoCell ingredients?
The research is modest. ASU and Boswellia show small benefits in trials of each alone, hyaluronic acid is mixed, quercetin has no human joint trials and black pepper extract is an absorption aid. No trial has tested the SynoCell blend.
Which SynoCell ingredient has the best evidence?
ASU and Boswellia have the most human trial data, and both are small. ASU is dosed close to the studied amount.
Does SynoCell contain glucosamine or chondroitin?
No. It contains neither. The 2026 ACR guideline summary advises against glucosamine and chondroitin products.
Is oral hyaluronic acid the same as an injection?
No. A capsule is digested first, and an injection goes into the joint. Small oral studies gave mixed results.
Does SynoCell rebuild cartilage?
No trial shows that. The ASU hip trial found no difference in joint-space loss against placebo.
How long should I test SynoCell?
One bottle is 30 days. Keep notes on stairs, chair rises and walking, and decide at the end of the bottle. The guarantee window is 90 days.
Our view
The honest read on SynoCell ingredients benefits is that two ingredients are dosed near the research, one has no joint trials and one is not a joint ingredient at all. That is a clear picture, and it is better than a vague promise.
Treat the capsules as a trial run on top of exercise and weight care. Write down what you notice, check your medicines with a pharmacist and judge the bottle on your own notes.
SynoCell is a dietary supplement, not a drug and not FDA approved. It is not a pain reliever and not a treatment for arthritis.
